200 Freshmen Enter W.P.I.; Others Enroll Tomorrow

Two hundred freshmen today began their four-year career at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the same way they will end it -- taking examinations. The incoming class this morning spent three hours taking aptitude tests in the electrical engineering building.

Upper classmen will enroll tomorrow following the first general assembly at 9:30 a.m. Rear Adm. Way Tyler Cluverius, president, will welcome the students. Rev. Walter Donald Kring, minister of the First Unitarian Church, will give the invocation.

Total enrollment probably will reach 870, equalling last year's record high. The freshman figure is slightly below last year. Classes in the college's 80th year will begin Thursday.
