Family

Cynthia and I celebrating her 60th Birthday in Portugal

Married my high school and college sweetheart in 1968 and moved back in the neighborhood of where we both grew up. We have one child, Amy, who is now married, and living in Natick with her husband Dave and daughter of 21 months, Mia.

Cynthia and I spend a lot of time with our parents who are all in the "not so golden" years.

Career

Dave, Mia and Amy

After graduation, I got a job with General Electric in Lynn working on Aircraft Engines. Who would have expected that I would spend my whole career there?

I found GE a good company to work for and it offered one of the more challenging jobs for an ME in the Massachusetts area. I spent 29 years with them and decided at that point that I had enough and was time to move on.

On the side, Cynthia and I had bought some land and started a Christmas Tree farm in Amesbury. So, when I left GE, growing and selling trees became a bigger part of our life. I still go back to GE at times to try to help them out (in the winter, part time, doing what seems rewarding to me).

Cynthia has had a multitude of jobs along the way from lab assistant, to teacher, to medical assistant, to dental assistant, but what she really does best is paint. Not the house, but artwork.

Right now, we are both sort of retired. We both do pretty much what we want to do, when we want to do it. It’s a pretty good life.

What we are up to now

My Home Away from Home

In our semi-retired life, both Cynthia and I remain quite busy.

I spent a lot of time on our 26 foot boat fishing, lobstering and cruising. In addition, I still work on the tree farm and our land maintenance. I enjoy vegetable gardening, swimming, tennis, cross country skiing and have just begun to play golf.

Cynthia enjoys painting, gardening, walking and volunteer activities.

We look forward to continuing to spend time with our family, traveling, renovating my parents summer home on Plum Island and more of what we are doing now.

We hope to see you all at the 40th Reunion in June of 2007. If you haven’t been before, you should mark the calendar now. It is a really good time to get together with old friends and renew relationships that may have been dormant for years. So, save the date and call an old friend to see if they will come back too.
