A Letter from Elliot Whipple '67
January 12, 2007
Dear Classmate,
We are now well in to our 40th Reunion Gift Campaign. We only have 5 ˝ months left to complete our fundraising activities for the 3 year period culminating with our 40th class reunion on June 8-10th of 2007.
At this time we have received pledge commitments for over $680,710 from just over 38% of the class. This places our Class Gift 9th in dollar value for a 40th Reunion Gift and our participation 23rd. This is a fantastic result so far, but we hope to improve significantly upon this both in dollars and participation.
-->The committee recently decided to commit all of our designated class gift money to WPI scholarships in the name of the “Class of 67”. These are endowed scholarships that will go on forever. Each scholarship requires a minimum of about $100,000 to start. This scholarship fund is something that we can continue to donate to for the rest of our lives while watching them being awarded to the qualified and needy leaders of the future.
The Committee and our Solicitors are renewing our commitment to contact all of you. We would appreciate a pledge form everyone for whatever you are comfortable with.
With your support, we will make a difference!
Sincerely,
Elliot F. Whipple '67
