Deaths
Carla Maureen (Caputo) Modderno
Carla passed away on April 21, 2005 at UMass Medical Center after a
courageous fight with leukemia. She was thirty years old.
Carla majored in computer science at WPI, one of only three women in our class to do so. She was editor of the Peddler yearbook, honored as a Friend of Alpha Chi Rho, and inducted into Tau Beta Pi.
After graduating from WPI, she went on to earn a degree at RPI and work at EMC, where she earned several promotions and worked for a year in Ireland. When her daughter Rebecca Rose was born in August 2003, Carla put her career on hold to be a stay-at-home mom. She was active in her church and in the Whitinsville Moms to Moms group.
In addition to her parents and a sister, Carla leaves her husband Jeffrey Modderno '95 (AXP) and daughter, pictured above with the family dog in 2003. For more information, please read her obituary and sign her guest book.
In lieu of flowers, the family offers the following ideas for contributions in Carla's memory:
