Homecoming Student Activities

The Alumni Relations and Student Activities Offices are excited to present 2009 Homecoming Week. This list of events is an opportunity to increase school spirit and create a friendly competition for the WPI Homecoming Cup. Download the Homecoming Week Packet. Daily	Where's Gompei? Sponsored by SAS An email will be sent to team captains (one per day Tuesday-Friday) asking a question linked to WPI history.	Email
8 a.m.-5 p.m.	Fill the Bus! Food Drive Sponsored by the Community Service Center Drop off non-perishable food items in the Community Service Office so that WPI can fill a bus and donate canned goods to a food pantry in Worcester. Drop offs can be made all week at the Community Service Office and on the Quad from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday!	Community Service Center & Quad (Sat)
8 a.m.-5 p.m.	Daily Theme Competition Sponsored by the Student Activities Office Each day is dedicated to wearing a particular item to express school spirit and win point for participating teams. 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.	Penny Wars Sponsored by Alpha Chi Rho Start a cup or add to a cup in the CC lobby. All money placed in the cups will be donated to the charity of the the first place team's choice! (Pennies are positive point; anything else is negative points.)	Campus Center Lobby
Daily	Trick or Treat for Diabetes Sponsored by Alpha Gamma Delta 10/27-10/29 2-5 p.m., 10/30 10 a.m.-3 p.m., 10/31 9 a.m.-3 p.m. For $2 a bid, guess how much candy is in the candy jar! All proceeds go to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.	10/27-10/30- Campus Center Lobby 10/31- Quad
Tuesday, October 27 (Theme: Crazy Hat Day)
2-4 p.m.	Extreme Quad Relay Sponsored by IFC & Panhellenic Council Compete in a series of events to show school spirit and unite teams.	Quad
7 p.m.	Women's Soccer Game vs. Babson College Sponsored by the Student Alumni Society & The Herd Attend the game and show your school spirit.	Alumni Field
Wednesday, October 28 (Theme: WPI Day)
6 p.m.	Open Mic Night Sponsored by SocComm Come support students as they perform live and enjoy the show!	Goat's Head Restaurant
Thursday, October 29 (Theme: Costume Day)
11 a.m.-2 p.m.	Jail and Bail Sponsored by Sigma Phi Epsilon Team members will be "arrested and sent to jail." Those in jail will need to raise $10 to get out. The team who raises the most wins!	Quad (Rain Location- Campus Center)
5 p.m.	Banners Due to Student Activities Office!	Student Activities Office Campus Center, Third Floor
Friday, October 30 (Theme: Crimson & Gray Day)
7-9 p.m.	Pep Rally Sponsored by the Student Government Association Show school spirit with the student body and gear up for Homecoming Weekend!	Quad (Rain Location- Riley Commons)
9-11 p.m.	Haunted Higgins House Sponsored by Student Alumni Society Participate in a ghoulish night and haunted tour of Higgins House.	Higgins House
9-11 p.m.	Pumpkin Carving Contest Sponsored by IFC & Panhellenic Council Enjoy the team-carved pumpkins that will be judged throughout the Haunted Higgins House event. (Pumpkins must arrived at the event carved and will not be returned).	Higgins House
9-11 p.m.	Mystery Contest Sponsored by SocComm Meet members of SocComm and get a ghoulish treat.	Higgins House
Saturday, October 31
Noon	Parade Sponsored by Student Activities & Alumni Relations Theme: Spooky Tech. Teams can build a float, make a banner, or walk together. Come see the displays of school spirit at an annual Homecoming tradition!	Route: Boynton Street parking lot to the Quad
5-7 p.m.	Halloween in Morgan Sponsored by Residence Hall Council Enjoy free candy and crafts.	Morgan Hall
7 p.m.-Midnight	Halloween Costume Dance Party! Sponsored by the Game Development Club Dance the night away with the GDC at the annual Halloween dance.	Campus Center, Odeum
