The Bridge - May 2006

Alumni Communication Survey Update

Thank you for your participation in the Communications survey. We are pleased with the response rate and the participation across a wide range of class years. Your feedback is being reviewed. Over the next few months, we will provide you with a detailed summary of the results and our actions and next steps. As for quick wins, we learned that some alumni did not know about The Bridge. We have reached out to these individuals and signed them up!

Congratulations to William Riccio, Jr. '88, who won an iPod in the random drawing of survey respondents. Second place winner is John Cunic '68, and the third place winner is Anthony Cosenze '04. Thanks to all who participated.

Off Broadway Comes to WPI

New Voices will be staging a benefit performance for three WPI playwrights selected for the 31st Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Original Short Play Festival. WPI Captures 2005-2006 Worcester Cup

For the second time in three years, WPI has won the Worcester College Cup, presented annually by the Telegram & Gazette to the area school with the highest overall winning percentage in all sports. WPI got a huge push in the standings from the men's and women's basketball teams. The football and softball teams also had very good seasons, and the volleyball, men's soccer and field hockey teams improved on their win totals from the 2004-05 season, giving WPI contributions across the board. "We're very proud, thrilled," WPI director of athletics Dana Harmon said. "As a group we kept [the Cup] in mind all year, and we wanted to do well. This is one measuring stick of our competitiveness. We have a very talented, dedicated group of coaches who made it happen." Read the full story...
