Mark your calendars now for an exciting weekend of fun at WPI. We are offering many fantastic programs this year including the Hall of Fame Induction, Parade of Floats, football and field hockey games, Family Carnival, networking social in the brand new Goat's Head Restaurant, showing of the movie Ratatouille, live entertainment, football alumni tent, and much more! Join up with classmates for a pre-reunion gathering on Friday, September 28th at the Boynton Restaurant. Return to campus on Saturday for a mid-day barbeque. New Endowed Chemistry Professorship
WPI has established a new endowed professorship in chemistry, made possible by the generosity of John C. Metzger Jr. '46, and his wife, Jean Metzger. John Metzger, who died in December 2006 at the age of 82, was an emeritus trustee of WPI. Read more.
Prof. McNeill Reaches Quarterfinals of Amateur Golf Championship
John A. McNeill, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, survived two qualifying rounds and two rounds of match play to reach quarterfinals of the Massachusetts Amateur Tournament, the premier championship for the state's amateur golfers, on July 12. He was the only player from Central Massachusetts among this elite group of eight golfers. Read more.
Volleyball and Interim Head Field Hockey Coaches Named
Leo Fahey has been selected as the head women's volleyball coach for the upcoming season. Fahey spent the past four years as co-founder, director, and coach of the Central Mass Juniors Volleyball Club. Read more.
Lisa Moreau joins WPI this fall as the interim head field hockey coach for the 2007 season.
Most recently, Moreau enjoyed a successful nine-year run at Narragansett Regional High School in Baldwinville, Mass. Read more.

WPI is pleased to present Imagine and Achieve, a town hall event in which President Berkey will speak about the future of the university; guests will have the opportunity to share their input and ideas about WPI in this intimate and interactive setting. Attendees will also view a video of WPI today and be able to register with WPI's new online alumni community. A reception with beverages and passed hors d'oeuvres will round out the evening. The 2007 WPI Hockey Alumni Golf Fund-Raiser will be held September 14 at Townsend Ridge Country Club; shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost is $100 per player/$400 per foursome, and includes golf, cart, driving range, BBQ dinner, prizes, and tee gifts.
