Dear Alumni,

It has been with profound sympathy and deep concern that all of us here at WPI have witnessed the terrible devastation wrought by the recent earthquake in China. WPI is truly a global university, and many members of our alumni and campus communities have direct ties to the region. I join President Berkey and everyone here at WPI in offering our deepest condolences to all those who have been affected by this tragedy.

During this time of great difficulty, the WPI community is rallying together to support one another and to offer their unique skills and WPI know-how to the recovery efforts. To help our alumni connect with one another, we have created this message board, where those living in China can let their classmates and friends know of their well-being, and those outside of China can express their support. I hope you will take this opportunity to reach out to your WPI family.

I hope it offers you some comfort to know that your alma mater holds you and your family in its thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Dexter Bailey

I join with the many whose expressions of sympathy & concern are sent to our alumni -- on behalf of current WPI students, please know that we are hoping for the best possible outcome of this terribly difficult situation.  May your WPI education serve you well throughout the rebuilding of infrastructure & the lives of those who have been harmed.
