Career Development Center Alumni Assistance Program
The Career Development Center offers Alumni Career Services for alumni. We have a number of resources available to assist you including career counseling appointments, resume critiques, workshops and programs, job search techniques and access to job postings for experienced alumni. In addition, we can also help you hire a WPI student or a fellow alumnus. Contact us at 508-831-5260 or cdc@wpi.edu for more information. Below is a list of career services for alumni:
One-on-One Assistance
The CDC staff is available to meet with you to discuss your career related issues. Appointments are available in person or via phone during normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM). Please contact us directly to make an appointment.
Alumni Job Postings
CDC posts experienced and entry-level job positions on its CareerPlanner web-based system. Many large, medium and smaller sized businesses have successfully used this cost effective recruiting tool. Responses to the postings are made directly to the listing employer. To register for an account please complete the Alumni Registration Form (PDF) and return to the CDC by mail or fax to 508-831-5827.
Resume Assistance
Resume critiques are available by personal appointment, by mail and phone, or e-mail.
Resume Referral
CDC electronically stores resumes of alumni in our CareerPlanner database. Employers can directly access alumni resumes.
Company Research Database
Career Search is a computer program with a database of over 2 million companies. It allows the users to search for potential employers that meet a variety of criteria, including industry, geographic location, and size. This database is included in your CareerPlanner account.
Hire a WPI Student or WPI Alumnus
If you are an employer looking to hire a WPI student or alumnus for a part-time, full-time, summer internship or co-op position, please contact us to learn how to post a job.
WPI Career Fairs
The CDC holds three career fairs annually and alumni are welcome to attend.
Career Resource Library
The CDC houses a variety of career transition and job search related materials along with computers with internet access to assist with your job search.
Reciprocity
For alumni wishing to use career resources in other colleges we will write a letter to their CDC Director asking for their assistance and offering to extend this same service to their Alumni.
Hours:
CDC is open 8:30AM- 5PM Monday thru Friday.
WPI’s Career Development Center is committed to providing outstanding service to WPI students and alumni, as well as potential employers. Staff members encourage companies to use the CDC to help them meet their needs for entry level and experienced employees.
The Career Development Center is located on the lower floor in the Project Center.
