Services Offered
Below is a sample list of services available to WPI students. If you need assistance with something not listed, please set up an appointment with a CDC staff member to discuss further.
- One-on-One Counseling
- Meet with a counselor to discuss any career/major related concerns or questions.
- Self-assessment Instruments
- These include Strong Interest Inventory, Myers Briggs or the Self Directed Search to assess your skills, values and personality traits.
- Workshops
- The CDC has many workshops such as Resume Writing, Job Search Strategies, Acing Your Interview, How to Apply to Graduate School and other Career specific topics such as Careers in the Life Sciences.
- Resource Center
- Our resource center contains printed and videotaped materials to assist you in researching career opportunities you are interested in exploring. In addition, we have information on applying to graduate school.
- Job Search Strategies
- The CDC can help with Job Search Strategies once you have identified the direction you want your career to take.
- Professionals-in-Action Program
- This program arranges shadowing opportunities to give you first hand exposure to various career opportunities.
- Mentoring
- Work with a counselor to identify volunteers in our Networking Database who would talk with you one-on-one to discuss career opportunities. Contact the CDC to set up an appointment.
- Experiential Education
- The CDC offers two programs Summer Internships and Cooperative Education
- Job Listings
- Listings for full-time, part-time, summer, co-op and volunteer positions are included in CareerPlanner@WPI that only registered students can access.
- Job/Career Fairs
- We organize two job/career fairs during the academic year, one in the fall and one in the spring.
- On-Campus Recruiting
- Every year the CDC brings companies to campus to interview students. Employers interview for summer, co-op and permanent positions.
- Other Resources
- The CDC has most, but, not all the resources you need. If you can't find what you need at the CDC, we can help you find what you need by pointing you in the direction of the Counseling and Student Development Center, Academic Advising, and other faculty and staff.
