Summer Internships

The CDC Summer Internship Program serves the students of WPI as they explore career options, gain world-of-work experience, earn income and contribute to society during the summer months.

To accomplish this mission, the Summer Internship Program offers multiple services to WPI students including: Career Counseling, Resume Development Assistance, Job Search Skills Training, Position Posting, Resume Referrals, and listings, as well as, some On-Campus Interviews. You need to have a CareerPlanner acccount to take part in this program.

All WPI students are eligible to participate in the Summer Internship Program. The employer makes the final decision regarding which candidate suits their position best. Students are not guaranteed a position via this referral system, and in some cases, a student may not find any posting which meet their particular needs for the summer. For these reasons, the Summer Internship Program needs to be viewed as a supplemental piece of a summer job search. CDC will provide assistance to students in all facets of their summer job search. Students can also take advantage of the complimentary informational resources located in the CDC Resource Library.

It is never too early to think about a summer job. Most employers start sending job postings by the month of October, however, companies like GE and Raytheon start recruiting for summer positions, as early as September! Therefore, we encourage students to start getting ready and "think summer" during A and B terms.
