E - Term Financial Aid
Financial assistance for Summer Terms is limited to Federal Stafford Loans and private auxiliary loans (see Loans and Payment Plans tab for more information on private loans).
If a student uses their Stafford loans during the summer they will not be eligible to use these loans for the following academic year and their financial aid package cannot be increased to offset any shortfall this may cause. Private loan borrowing will have no effect on the following year’s financial aid package.
If you plan to borrow a Federal Stafford Loan and/or a private auxiliary loan for the summer, you need to complete the following:
1). File a 2012-2013 FAFSA
2). Submit a WPI Summer Application for student loans.
These forms should be returned to the Office of Financial Aid by March 15, 2012. Once both these forms are submitted to our office, our staff will contact you about your financial need eligibility for the loans listed on your Summer Application.
If you are taking summer courses to make up course work not successfully completed during terms A - D please be aware that only summer courses taken at WPI will count toward the aid retention policy.
