Making a Corporate Gift

"By helping WPI offer a cutting-edge education, Avaya's gifts will enable the university to prepare the innovators and leaders our company, and our country, will need in the years ahead."
- Donald K. Peterson '71, former Chairman and CEO, Avaya Inc.

Gifts from corporate partners play a vital role in helping WPI fulfill its mission. Financial support from corporations offsets part of the high cost of delivering an outstanding technological education, enables WPI to embark on new initiatives that advance the frontiers of education and serve society, and allows it to maintain state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories, first-rate classrooms, the most current computing technology, and other vital campus facilities.

Corporate gifts can take many forms. They can be unrestricted gifts that support the general operation of the university or they can be restricted to particular departments, programs or organizations. Many corporations have established named undergraduate scholarships; others have supported fellowships that provide tuition and a stipend to graduate students.

Corporate donations often take the form of gifts-in-kind of company products or used equipment. These gifts permit companies to have an immediate impact on research, education or operations at WPI, enable the university to provide its faculty and students with the most up-to-date equipment, and expose future graduates to the benefits of a company's products.
