Corporate Graduate Fellowships

Are you interested in exploring new technologies? Working with bright young faculty trained at the cutting edge? Helping guide the career of a graduate student? Getting to know WPI students working in the field? The WPI Corporate Graduate Fellowship is your answer. Here's how it works:

That's how it works. Why it works is more interesting. Relationships are built among the research team. Research interests of both institutions are furthered. WPI is better able to provide its students the real world experience they need to be successful. The corporation has the opportunity to help build and guide a research area of interest within the University. Fellowships often result in improved recruiting for the corporation in this and other research areas. Best of all, the Corporate Graduate Fellowship provides a cost effective method of investigating the potential for further relationships, from sponsored research to graduate courses for employees and beyond.

Because the Corporate Graduate Fellowship is not sponsored research (there is no research contract; there are no expected deliverables), the University offers the fellowships without overhead. The cost of a corporate graduate fellowship is approximately $40,000, negotiated between the University and the corporation, and covers graduate student tuition, stipend and research costs for the department.
