Request

FPE requested the development of a new department website. The department's needs included the ability to post announcements and events, and highlight career opportunities in the field of FPE

Approach

We designed and developed a new site with user-friendly navigation, revised content, and eye-catching graphics that help draw the user into the site.

Sustainability

Site Redesign: Launched March 17, 2008

Request

Web Operations suggested this redesign project to the President’s Task Force on Sustainability as a way to help promote the group’s important work. As this was a university-wide initiative, we worked with the student-based Sustainability IQP team to help them expand upon their original website. Our interactive graphic design staff created a new look and feel for the site.

Design a new logo for Sustainability

Approach

Working with the students and their advisor, a new design was created for the Sustainability website. The students’ site menu was retained and all content within the site was written by the students. The site was moved onto the WPI website and a short URL was created. We also recommended the addition of a Sharepoint site as a place for the community to share ideas, provide input into intiatives, etc. An interest form was added and designed to be viewed and filled out from mobile devices. Our interactive graphic design staff developed the Sustainability logo, which is now displayed on the website and other Sustainability collateral.

Interactive Materials Design Center (IMDC)

Site Redesign: Launched

Request

The IMDC requested a site redesign. One of the department’s requirements was a password-protected, members-only section.

Approach

Our interactive graphic design staff developed a futuristic site using a modern color scheme to convey a high-tech feel. Original graphics were developed at the direction of the IMDC. Our staff also created the password protected, members-only area .

Recognition

This site was featured on the eduWeb awards ballot page for Best Microsite.
