Violations and Fines

1. Overnight Parking $25
   (Subject to immediate tow)
2. Loading and/or Prohibited parking areas $15
   (Subject to immediate tow)
3. Obstructing service road, cross walk, grassed area, sidewalk, or island $20
   (Subject to immediate tow)
4. Obstructing Snow Removal $20
   (Subject to immediate tow)
5. Failure to Display Parking Decal $15
6. Removing, moving any street sign, traffic sign or temporary barrier $20
7. Parking in a restricted, blocked or reserved area $25
   (Subject to immediate tow)
8. Visitor/Admissions parking area $25
9. Fire lane $25
   (Subject to immediate tow)
10. Handicap Parking/blocking ramp $80
    (Subject to immediate tow)
11. Speeding greater than reasonable $50
12. Disregard of traffic signs, arrows, or a police $25
    (Officer's direction)

Payment of Fines

All fines must be paid in person at the WPI Campus Police office at 35 Dean Street or by mailing a check to Campus Police. Failure to pay a fine within a 30 (business) day period will result in an additional $5 fine being added. Failure to pay a fine within a 60 (business) day period will result in the loss of parking privileges. Your vehicle will then be subject to being towed when found on campus

Students who fail to pay assessed fines will not be eligible to register for the next term, or as seniors will not be able to receive their diplomas or transcripts.

Towing Policy

Vehicles that have received 5 or more parking violations are subject to being towed, as are vehicles that are found to be parked in those areas designated as tow zone areas. Vehicles that have been abandoned will be towed as well. Towing and storage is at the owner's expense. ($90 tow charge + $20 per day for storage).

Appeals

To appeal a parking or traffic violation, you may:

• Fill out an appeal form, which is available at the WPI Campus Police office at 35 Dean Street or online
• Submit an appeal letter of explanation to the Director of Public Safety within 21 days of the violation. Please include a photocopy of the citation notice.
