SNAP - Escort Service
Escort Service
We encourage students, faculty, and staff to use WPI's Security Night Assistance Patrol, or SNAP. We have added an additional van to our program and currently staff each van seven days a week, with extended hours of operation during the fall and winter sessions (October through February). Cosponsored by the WPI Police Department and the Office of Residential Services, SNAP begins operation on the first night of classes each term and ends on the last day of classes at the end of the term: Sunday through Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. New hours will be announced for March through May.
Guidelines for utilizing the SNAP escort service include:
- escorts must fall under a limit of a one (1) mile radius.
- escorts will be provided from off-campus housing, to campus and from campus, to off-campus housing.
- escorts will be provided when on campus to all points of the campus.
- escorts are not used for grocery pickups or rides to shopping centers or restaurants.
You can reach SNAP by calling +1-508-831-6111. Calls are answered on a priority basis and handled as expeditiously as possible. However, there may be times when an escort is delayed; please be patient during such times.
