May 20, 2005 - Before an audience of more than 700 members of the WPI community, delegates from nearly 50 colleges, universities, and learned societies, and other guests, who gathered on Quadrangle on the WPI campus, Dennis D. Berkey was formally inaugurated as the university's 15th president and chief executive officer today, accepting the mantle of responsibility with humility and confidence.
The installation ceremony was the centerpiece of an hour-long event that included a keynote address by Massachusetts Senator Edward M.
