Community Service
This is a picture of the community service project that Joey Havelick's Insight Group decided, on their own, to embark on.
WPI and the Student Activities Office would like to encourage all students and student organizations to become involved in community service. To facilitate this involvement the Student Activities Office offers a number of support mechanisms that are described in the links to the left.
Report Your Service Hours
To assist us in our efforts to record WPI's involvement in the community please fill out the Service Report Form for all of the service projects that your organization is involved in. The report only takes a couple of minutes to fill out and is very important to WPI.
There are separate forms to complete if your community service is to be reported for the Federal Work Study Community Service Program :
Community Service Work Study Pre-Approval Form--For service with an agency not on SAO’s list of approved agencies
Community Service Work Study Completion Form--For reporting community service hours to Financial Aid
Did you know: More than eight out of 10 people (86%) said they volunteered because they felt compassion for those in need. Nearly three-fourths of the respondents (72%) volunteered because they had an interest in the activity or work, and 70 percent volunteered to gain a new perspective on things.
