Internship Opportunities
Internship Opportunities
The WPI Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC) is a competitive training facility for graduate students in counseling psychology. We strive to provide a well rounded and supportive experience for our interns. Our interns work with a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students with various presenting issues. Interning students also have the opportunity to participate in our exciting outreach programs, including our nationally recognized Student Support Network.
Our intern training program includes:
- 1 hour weekly supervision
- 1 hour dyad supervision
- An orientation period with intensive training on key topics including safety assessment.
- Weekly team meetings that include training seminars and case conferences.
SDCC student interns quickly become integrated members of our dedicated clinical team. Therefore, it is suggested that all applicants should have completed their first practicum or have prior mental health experience before applying. However, all applications will be reviewed.
The SDCC has been the practicum site for many graduate counseling programs, including:
- Antioch University New England
- Assumption College
- Boston College
- Boston University
- Lesley College
- Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology
