Stress and Wellness Resources

Relaxation Room

On the second floor of West Street House is located our "Relaxation Room". We offer this space as a respite for individuals and small groups of students to unwind, de-stress, meditate, or just plain "get away from it all" for a time.

Imagine taking some time for yourself to sit and breathe; perhaps listening to a CD which guides you to a deep state of relaxation. The Relaxation Room is a place to find peace and quiet, to develop self awareness and insight, and to enhance your ability to bring a sense of presence to each day.

Within the relaxation room is our ever-growing library of resources on relaxation and meditation. Included are books, audiocassettes, and CDs that offer information and instruction on relaxation and meditation. Our staff will be happy to help you get started using these resources as well as providing additional support and instruction on relaxation and meditation.

The room is open to all students during our normal operating hours. We do ask that you check in at our reception desk to check on availability of the room and to ensure your privacy during its use.

Saori Loom

As part of our Wellness and Stress Management Program the SDCC has added a Saori weaving loom to our waiting room. We encourage students, faculty and staff at WPI to participate in our project entitled "Weave Yourself Into the Fabric of the WPI Community". If you want to weave simply stop by during office hours and experience for yourself how weaving can take you to another, simpler world. No experience is necessary as we'll provide simple instruction in how to use the loom. All you need is the willingness to let go and express yourself by joining others in weaving your vision into a collective tapestry.
