The 2009 Senior Class Gift totaled a record-setting $27,705.66, which will go toward erecting an 8-foot statue of Gompei—to be placed outside the new Sports and Recreation Center—to inspire pride in alumni and current and future generations of WPI students. The total collected comprises contributions from 40 percent of the senior class; over 75 parents, faculty, and staff members; and a $10,000 match from Trustee Win Priem ’59.
