Newman Club

This noon, Tuesday, October 2nd our agenda committee is meeting to set up the agenda for the meeting of our Newman Executive Board tomorrow night. The Executive Board will host a Holy Hour at 8:30 PM followed by the full board at 9:00 PM. You are welcome to attend the Holy Hour or the Board meeting or both. Hopefully by the end of the board meeting, we will have a full schedule of events planned for Term B.

Also this coming Friday night, October 6th we will have a video and pasta night beginning at 5:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend these famous video and pasta nights which last until the food runs out. Peter V., Erin and Nick will be in charge of the cooking.

Again we urge you to keep an eye on your mailbox for an invitation to Fr.S.' famous suppers that are being held this week. They begin at 5:30 PM and are over before 6:30 PM. For new people on campus these suppers are a great way to get to meet Fr.S. and find out what he does around here.

Also we remind you that our weekly Faith and Discussion Group meets in the Religious Center every Monday night at 8:30 PM. These gatherings last one hour. Please feel free to join them any Monday night.

SGA

SGA held its last meeting on Tuesday September 26. Professor Bland Addison was the guest speaker. Professor Addison spoke on behalf of the Ad-hoc Committee for Academic Honesty. He presented the Senate with the proposal for a new Academic Honor Code that will replace the current policy found in the Campus Planner and Resource Guide. Prof. Addison also answered many questions regarding the new Code. The next SGA meeting will take place on Tuesday October 3 at 6 pm in the Lower Wedge. The Senate and student body will be discussing their ideas and concerns regarding the Academic Honor Code proposal. Anyone interested is invited to attend.

SMAS

The first court of the year has been held, with our new Baroness presiding; the court was thrilled to see new courtiers among the familiar faces in attendance. Jen Zimmerman assumed her duties as court herald. Now if we could only find our court treasonist... Now the festivities begin! Tickets to King Richard's Faire will soon be available through the officers (sorry about the delay). The first movie night, featuring Robin Hood in nigh infinite variation, will be next Friday; keep you eye on your inbox for directions!

Autocross Club

Like driving? Like cars? Like driving racecars? Check out the Autocross Club. We participate in SCCA SoloII races. Many of us race our own cars, but the club also races the Formula SAE cars from previous years. We also have a very knowledgeable group of members that can help with your car. Any experience level is suitable. If you attend club functions, we guarantee you will learn about cars. We will also be working closely with the design and building of this year's Formula SAE car. Those interested in MQP or ISP credit for working on the car should contact Sarah Grenier (gren@wpi.edu) ASAP. There are plenty of available projects. Being a co-designer of the FSAE car pretty much guarantees you a job in the auto industry. So, if you just like working on your car, or want to feel the rush of strapping yourself into a custom-built racecar, stop by our meetings on Thursdays at 7:00 in either Higgins 116 or 218, or send an email to autox-officers@wpi.edu for more info. http://www.wpi.edu/~autoxer
