Aggressive Wheaton team defeats women's Soccer team

By Courtney Estaphan - Tech News Staff

Saturday afternoon Wheaton College came to Alumni Field to play a very aggressive WPI Women's Soccer team. If you attended the game, you know what I mean. These ladies played tough, the whole game was back and forth on the field. At half time the score was still tied at 0-0 and neither team looked like they were ready stop playing hard. Senior goalkeeper, Brooke LeClair had some awesome saves through out the entire game, it was not until there was only 3:42 left on the clock that Wheaton came down the field and scored. Wheaton's Lucy Campbell (Anson, ME) came down the field and got past each line of defense, and had a clean shot on goal. Wheaton now has a record of 12-1 overall, and 5-0 in the NEWMAC conference. WPI now holds a record of 4-6-1 and are 0-4 in the NEWMAC conference. Up next for the Engineers is Mt. Holyoke College tonight away, and there next home game is Thursday, October 12th with Springfield (make-up game) at 7pm. This will be a good game, so come out and show your support. Good luck Engineers!
