Homophobia in 'Letter to Editor' causes distress

The letter entitled "Passion for Destruction" that was published in last week's Tech News was distressing to many members of BiLaGa. The main point that Joshua Resnick made in his letter was this: the chalkings bothered him because a "gay club" chalked the sidewalks and any such club only exists to promote kinky sex. Everyday, gays and lesbians have to face homophobia, which attempts to dehumanize them by directly equating them with "perverse" or "infernal" sexual behavior. The truth is that gays, lesbians, and bisexuals are human beings who happen to love differently. Hopefully, someday society will stop labeling us as deviant and learn to accept and celebrate our differences.
