WPI celebrates opening of new project center

It's the Hollywood of the computer world, where names like Oracle, Novell, and Sun line the streets. Technology is ever present here, surrounding and pressing upon you with the excitement of an amusement park. It's the place where it all started and continues to flourish-the once desolate landscape of a valley that now resembles one giant office park. And amidst this hustle and bustle of high-tech life, are what? WPI students, doing what they do best…projects!

New Diversity and Women's Program to reach out to girls, minorities

Despite the growing opportunities for women and minorities in today's world, the realms of science and engineering remain out of reach for many. Now Stephanie Blaisdell is out to change that demographic at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Her newly created job is to increase diversity among the students at this Worcester, Mass., technological university.

Students exploring new career options with CDC

The Career Development Center is an on-campus organization specializing in obtaining jobs and internships for students. The CDC offers its services to undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni, for no charge. The CDC also offers a variety of workshops and help sessions to aid students with their resumes and interviews. No doubt many readers have received emails from the CDC announcing workshops and conferences they are hosting. Nevertheless, for all the effort the CDC puts into their services, many interviewed students are not satisfied with the results, and are even exploring other options, such as online job-searching companies.
