Christian Bible Fellowship

Praise God for the grace he has given us through our Lord Jesus Christ! He forgives the sins of all who will repent and believe in Jesus, and for this we are eternally grateful. I invite anyone who's interested in meeting other Christians and learning about Jesus to come to one of our events this term. Tuesday Night Prayer is at 9:30 in Founders 204. There will be no FNF this week due to the retreat (for more details, contact cbf@wpi.edu or visit our web page at http://www.wpi.edu/~cbf). Lack of Talent Night will be on April 20, so start preparing those skits and songs soon!

Newman Club

Welcome back everyone. We had a great Appalachia in Worcester Project where twenty of us gave up a day of our Spring break to work on a poverty project here in the City of Worcester. We descended on Saint Anthony's Closet shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Monday March 12th and stay there until 4:00 p.m. We painted six rooms on the second floor of the Thrift Shop. That evening we gathered at Leo Ristorante for supper and John D found out that he had plenty of competition as to who could eat the most. So we want to thank all those non- - members as well as members who worked together for a great cause - helping our fellow human beings. We accomplished some good and have a fun time in doing it.

Every night during Lent we have Lenten Mass at 10:00 p.m. in the Religious Center except on Friday when Mass is at noon. Our Faith and Discussion group meets every Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. in the Religious Center. Our Sunday Mass continues to be on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. You are always welcome at any of our events.

This coming Saturday, March 31st we have our annual Day of Retreat which will be held at the Religious Center beginning at 10:00a.m.and ending by 5:00 p.m. Diane Jordan is the chairperson for this event.

Also on Sunday, April 1st, we will have our Term D breakfast at the Religious Center immediately after our 11:30 a.m. Mass.

BiLaGA

Well, we've been doing great these past few terms! Lets keep it up! First and foremost, our LGBT Film Festival is this Wednesday, March 28th, in Riley Commons from 1 p.m. to midnight. Check the movie listings on our posters and fliers around campus. The admission is free and there will be very good and cheap popcorn. Also, next Tuesday, April 3rd, is WPI's Day of Silence, recognizing those who have been silenced due to oppression and social injustice. Look for tables to sign up. This Tuesday we will hold

our support group at 8p.m., email us for the location. We will also have our Tuesday lunch meeting at noon in the Campus Center by the pool tables.

Finally, we will be having our regular business meeting this Thursday at 8p.m. in Morgan C. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at bilaga@wpi.edu.

Interfraternity Council

IFC is participating in the Mayor's College CleanUp this Saturday March 31 from 9-1. Many of the colleges in the Worcester Consortium are participating as well as other organizations on campus. We will be going out in the city and working on the beautification of Worcester. We will have a information table set on Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the fountain to encourage, and sign up, people to go. Any questions contact Chris Reger, cjreger@wpi.edu or stop by our new office in the Campus Center, room 315.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship

Greetings during this time of Great Lent. During these forty days Orthodox Christians fast and pray so that they may start to appreciate the mystery of Christ's Resurrection in their own heart. The Resurrection of Christ is not only something that happened 2000 years ago, but it is something that happens in the fleshly, mental, and spiritual faculties of each Christian who enters into communion with God. We sing during the fast, "Let us purify our senses, so we can see Christ, shining in the unapproachable light of the resurrection." St. Athanasius says of our salvation in Christ that: "God became human so that we might become 'gods'." God came to earth so that man could be raised to heaven. He did this so human beings "might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world..." (2 Peter 1:4)

From ancient times the Church has celebrated a solemn evening service during the weeks of Great Lent. This Wednesday the OCF will attend this service at St. Mary's Cathedral in Worcester. We will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. sharp in front of Daniels Hall. A meal will be served afterward by the parishioner's of St. Mary's. Please dress very modestly, no shorts or short sleeves. For more information email seraphim@wpi.edu.

GAEA

This past Tuesday, several members of GAEA attended a meeting of the Inter-Fraternity Council in order to promote recycling among the fraternities and discuss recycling options. We were interested in finding out the current procedures for waste removal so that we can better assess available options, and fraternities were encouraged to establish committees or create an official position for a recycling chair if they do not already do so.

We would also like to have a tree-planting ceremony around Earth Day with local elementary school students, and we are currently ordering trees and contacting local schools.

GAEA will be participating in the second national day of action against Staples on March 28. Staples stores nation-wide will be targeted to encourage them not to buy wood cut from old growth forests, 96% of which have been cut down in the United States.

Justice

Justice was active during break by sending two students to an anti-sweatshop protest at Niketown in Boston. A week before that, we attended the United Students Against Sweatshops national conference at Holy Cross.

For this term, Justice is considering doing an ethical evaluation of the companies coming for this year's summer job fair on April 4th. We'll make the information we find available at the fair. This Thursday, we'll be showing "Martin Luther King Jr.: At the River I Stand". The location and time will be announced later. April 3rd is going to be our National Day of Silence in opposition to oppression. We plan to have a table during that day. During our meetings this month, the hot item of interest is anti-FTAA action. Come to a meeting to find out how we've been working with Worcester Global Action Network to help stop the Free Trade Area of the Americas proposal from becoming law.

Remember, meetings are weekly on Mondays. 8:30 p.m., 3rd Floor Lounge in Fuller. To join the club, email justice@wpi.edu
