Andrei Troschinsky scored two goals and assisted on another and Mark Rycroft had four assists as the Worcester IceCats beat the Springfield Falcons 7-6 in American Hockey League victory Friday night.

Troschinski had both of his goals in a five-goal outburst in the opening period as the IceCats took a 5-1 lead and chased Springfield goaltender Patrick DesRochers.

Justin Papineau, Pascal Rheaume and Doug Friedman also tallied for Worcester.

Ryan Lauzon had the only first-period goal for the Falcons.

Papineau and Mike Peluso scored for Worcester in the second period, but Eric Healy and Chris Winnes countered for Springfield. Healy scored a goal and Frederic Bouchard put two in the net to bring the Falcons within striking distance, but the IceCats held on for the victory.
