Despite the inclement weather, Traditions Day activities hosted by SAS went off without a hitch. The sophomore class overcame its general apathy as well as the freshman competition to sweep the rivalry activities of cageball, pennant rush, and Jeopardy. Congratulations Class of 2003! This makes the rivalry score 2-2. The final rivalry event is the Junior/Senior Mystery Event during Quadfest. The winner takes all, so get psyched! The Goat's Head Committee granted the sophomore class possession of the goat, but the junior class was able to abscond with it during the rivalry events. Finals week is coming, are you suffering from a bad case of the D terms? Check your mailbox to see if your parents ordered an SAS Survival Kit for you. They can be picked up on Wednesday and Thursday this week in the Campus Center from 11-2. Our next meeting is Wednesday, April 18th at 5pm in Higgins House. New members are always welcome! Free food and drinks, come be part of the fun!

Newman Club

Mike DiDonato, president-elect of our club, announced this week that he and his fellow officers-elect have chosen the following members of the club as chairpersons for the next school year: Sarah C. Bellfy and Nathan D. Gagnon as Eucharistic Chairpersons, Julie J. Banach and Eric W. Laurendeau as Ecumenical Chairpersons, Stephanie E. Wojcik and James F. Sangillo as Hospitality Chairpersons, Angela C. Rugg and Joel B. Lofgren as Liturgical Chairpersons and Patrick M. Groulx and Erica L. Bartos as Social Chairpersons. They, along with the officers elect, will form the Newman Club Executive Board for our next school year. The installation ceremonies for the new board will take place on Sunday, April 23.

In addition it was announced that James P. Koniers, Jason M. Field, John R. Richardson, Peter V. Vitello, Lauren E. Wojtkun, Amy L. Bliven, Lewis T. Kotredes, Estelle M. Houde and Diane R. Jordan would serve as advisors to the Executive Board.

On Sunday, April 23rd after our Sunday Mass we will start our Quadfest Celebration by having an outdoor barbecue for our members. The following Saturday we will sponsor St. Patrick's Pub in conjunction with the Quadfest on the Quad. As to what St. Patrick's Pub is, we leave that to your imagination. Just remember it is an Irish Pub.

SGA

Congratulations to Russell Bozek for successfully chairing his first SGA meeting! Our last meeting was all about technology. Sean O'Connor from Network Operations spoke about recent events with the network, including the banning of Napster, outages, and security issues. He also mentioned that NetOps would soon have a new web page to answer all the questions. We're grateful to him for his enlightening speech.

Also our newest Ad Hoc group, the Information Technology Committee with Chair Conor Walsh, gave a presentation on the committee's purpose. The IT Committee would be responsible for working with the Trustees about future plans for WPI's computer systems, recommending the official SGA webmaster, and handling all of SGA's computer needs. Vice President Tom Lynch, who was invited by Chair Walsh, spoke to the SGA about ideas currently being discussed by the Trustees and supported the idea of an IT Committee.

CAI is still working with the faculty on crafting a WPI Honor Code, different from the one that was rejected earlier this year. The Committee on Elections would like to report a 26% voter turnout for the Campus Hearing Board elections. Also, congratulations to Senator Jackie Chan, who will be attending a leadership conference this summer. Feel free to stop by our meetings, which are every Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Hagglund Room.
