Stratton Hall, now the home of the Mathematical Sciences Department and Human Resources, held a birthday party in December to commemorate its 100th birthday. More than 50 people listened to faculty and staff tell about Stratton's history and then cut a ca ke. Among those present were (from left) Dean Emeritus William Grogan, Professor Emeritus Donald Zwiep, President John Lott Brown, Principal Lab Technician Joe Gale, and Professor Emeritus Elliott Buell.

The building was the first permanent home of the Mechanical Engineering Department and served as a dormitory for the Navy V-12 Program during World War II. It is named for Charles G. Stratton, a member of the Class of 1875, who served as a trustee and pre sident of the Alumni Association.
