Christopher J. Boffoli of Shrewsbury, MA was recently appointed associate alumni director for fundraising and programs at WPI. Boffoli graduated from St. Peter-Marian High School in Worcester, and earned a bachelor's degree in English at The College of Charleston (SC). Before coming to WPI he was a legislative aide in the South Carolina Senate, then director of campaign finance for a Republican congressional primary. Prior to that, he was director of special projects for the annual fund at the Medical University of South Carolina.

In his new post, Boffoli is responsible for all young alumni fundraising and telemarketing, and works with students and alumni volunteers on regional clubs, Homecoming and Traditions Day and with members of the Student Alumni Society.

Boffoli replaces Lisa M. Hastings of Acton, MA, who resigned in November to become the development officer at Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum.
