Have you checked your mailbox?
Financial aid application packets for the academic year 1995-96 are now available. Current financial aid recipients in the Classes of '96, '97 and '98 who have been enrolled since Term A'94 should already have received their packet in their WPI mailboxes. The packet includes the WPI Upperclass Application Folder, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the Financial Aid Form (FAF). Students who did not receive an application and plan to apply for financial assistance must obtain the necessary forms at the Financial Aid Office in the lower level of Boynton Hall.
Please note the following important items when filing the FAFSA and FAF and follow all instructions relevant to your application:
- Filing the FAFSA and FAF is easier if you and your parents have completed your Federal tax returns. Therefore, we recommend you make every effort to complete your 1994 Federal IRS tax returns as soon as possible, so that you may use the official tax data on the FAFSA and FAF.
- Before sending the FAFSA and FAF in their respective envelopes to Federal Student Aid Programs and to College Scholarship Service, MAKE A COPY OF EACH FORM AND RETAIN THEM FOR YOUR RECORDS. Check each section on the forms to ensure that you and your parents have completed them as thoroughly and accurately as possible.
- Our instructions refer to the form for "Divorced or Separated Parents." If applicable, obtain this form from the Financial Aid Office.
- Upperclass students will be notified of financial aid eligibility approximately the first week of July, 1995. If you are in the current freshman class, please note that this upperclass notification date is considerably later than the date entering freshmen are notified.
- Current members of the Class of '95 who anticipate continued enrollment in the 1995-96 academic year must obtain an application packet at the Financial Aid Office. (Please note that Financial Aid eligibility for most sources of aid is limited to 16 terms of attendance only; this policy is closely monitored.)
- Students who entered WPI during C'95 and did not receive a financial aid application packet for 1995-96 may obtain one from the Financial Aid Office.
- Note the instructions in the application packet for all relevant deadlines, including those for the Upperclass Application Folder, the FAFSA, the FAF and the reciprocal state grant programs.
- Contact staff members of the WPI Financial Aid Office for any questions you have regarding completion of the 1995-96 financial aid forms.
