The Winter Carnival originated almost 80 years ago, that's when it was known as the Tech Carnival. It was one of those notorious Freshman-Sophomore Rivalry events that happened annually. However, the word carnival was deceiving. The entire carnival was based on 3 acts of drama provided by the Freshman class, the Sophomore class and the Faculty. For many years, Nils Hagberg, the campus cop, emceed the entire performance. However, the skits over time became unruly and as a result, were last heard of in 1969.
But NOW it's back and better than it ever was! We want everyone to participate in the events that we have planned for you! And better yet, it's happening all weekend long! Here's a taste of what is going on:
Friday, February 10

3:45 pm Mouse Trap Propulsion in the Lower Wedge**
4:30 pm Broomball Tournament in the Lower Field**
5:00 pm Movie: Animal House in the Lower Wedge
8:00 pm - 12:00 am Video Dance Party in Alden**
