SJC Historical Society to hold lecture in Worcester on the abolishment of slavery

The Supreme Judicial Court Historical Society announces a lecture on the Quock Walker Cases, a series of Worcester cases that contributed to the abolishment of slavery. Worcester historian Professor Kenneth Moynihan of Assumption College, Hon. Peter W. Agnes, Jr. of the Charlestown District Court and Hon. Julian T. Houston of the Massachusetts Superior Court will discuss the cases and their impact on the institution of slavery and social and economic conditions of the day.

The lecture will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 1995 in Washburn Hall at Mechanics Hall, 321 Main St., Worcester. An informal reception will follow.
