Corrections

In the March 28, 1995 issue of Newspeak it was reported incorrectly that: "The Office of Minority Affairs has merged with [office of] Multicultural Affairs" (OMA).

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CORRECTION:

* WPI does not have an Office of Minority Affairs, rather we have an Office of Minority Student Affairs (MSA).

* The Office of Minority Student Affairs has not merged with the Office of Multicultural Affairs. What has occurred is that OMA and MSA are now sharing the suite of offices formerly occupied by the Major Selection Program and the Academic Advising Office.

* The Office of Minority Student Affairs will continue to lead WPI's efforts to recruit and enroll qualified student of color, and to provide the necessary support for these students during their WPI careers.

* The Office of Multicultural Affairs will continue to work collaboratively with the Human Resources Office and faculty to bring greater diversity to WPI's staff and faculty. In addition, OMA will continue to promote pluralism at WPI to make our campus community more of a community for everyone.

In the March 28th edition of Newspeak, we ran a story on the opening of "The Last Strand" in Clinton, Mass., a pub cinema which will serve snacks and meals while showing recent motion pictures. It was stated in the article that it is a "unique" experience, which is not accurate. The Elm Draughthouse Cinema, located at 35 Elm St. in Millbury, Mass., also offers this concept, and has been operating for many years.
