Bring the family to the Cultural Festival
WPI's ninth annual Cultural Festival will be held on Saturday, April 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Alden Memorial. The festival, sponsored by WPI's International Student Council, fills the hall with informative and entertaining activities and programs of interest to children and adults alike. Some of this year's events include performances by international students, Latin and Vietnamese dances, the music of India, and the rhythms of the Caribbean Sound trio with Miguel Almestica. Exhibits will highlight the culture of many countries and there will be martial arts, origami and calligraphy demonstrations, and samples of native foods. Admission is free.
"The festival is a multicultural family event," says Tom Hartvig Thomsen, associate dean of student life and international student advisor. "It celebrates the diverse backgrounds of WPI's students, faculty and staff, and recognizes Worcester's rich ethnic heritage."
