First Night Worcester preparing for New Year's '96

First Night Worcester is the largest celebration of the arts and culture in Central Massachusetts. This festival continues to offer to our community a wide range of visual, performance, musical, and participatory arts. This year we will be celebrating the "World of Worcester," encompassing traditional European, Latino, African-American, and Asian cultures.

First Night Worcester invites you to submit proposals for performance and arts projects celebrating the world of our community, its diversity and the arts. Programs should be designed for all ages.

Indoor and fresh air performances: Music, Theater, Visual Art, Participatory Arts, Temporary Installations, and of course, fun are the highlights of the celebration.

All proposals are reviewed by First Night Worcester and appointed program panelists. Proposals will be selected for funding based on artistic merit, feasibility, appropriateness for the event, uniqueness, and availability of funds and space. First Night Worcester is an independent, non-profit corporation which is supported by individual, business, corporate, and foundation donations, as well as button sales.

The application deadline is April 29, 1995, and participants should be notified by July 31, 1995.
