Thompson appointed Interim Chemical Engineering Department Head
Robert Thompson, professor of chemical engineering, has been appointed interim head of the Chemical Engineering Department succeeding Professor Anthony Dixon. Thompson, who appointment was effective July 1, will serve through Dec. 31. He was previously interim head, with Professor David DiBiaso, in 1990-91. Thompson is filling the post while Professor Albert Sacco is training for his mission aboard the space shuttle Columbia, which is scheduled for liftoff Sept. 21.
