Worcester Common Fashion Outlets hosts "Homecoming Weekend"

Here's a great way for Worcester area college students to break in their new college IDs! Worcester Common Fashion Outlets is hosting "Homecoming Weekend", September 9-10, jam packed with hot music, cool back-to-school student discounts, free food, and shuttle bus service to and from eight Worcester Area campuses.

Kicking off "Homecoming Weekend" is the Elite Model Search, Friday, September 8 at 5pm in the mall's Center Court. Elite scouts will review photographs and interview women ages 13 and up with the energy, confidence, and "look" of a professional model.

"Homecoming Weekend" will wrap up with a day of free musical entertainment on Worcester Common, just outside the mall's Front Street entrance. Hosted by WAAF-FM, Cold Water Flat, voted "Best Cutting Edge Band" in 1995 by Boston Magazine's "Best of Boston" panelists will perform at 1pm on the Common. The Blue Route will open for Cold Water Flat at noon.

"We want Worcester Common Fashion Outlets to be as much a part of college life as spring break," said Tony Kalinowsky, General Manager. "These great events during the opening of a new school year are a way for us to let students know that they are welcome and we appreciate their business."

Beginning Saturday, September 9, the first 1,000 students visiting the mall's Customer Service Center with a valid college ID will receive a free $5 Food Court voucher to "pig out" with. The next 1,000 students are entitled to a free "Common Sense Savings" coupon book (worth $300). Worcester area college students can also receive Worcester Common Fashion Outlets' free College Discount Card, offering a variety of discounts at participating stores. Also, students are eligible for free parking for up to three hours with a valid college ID.

In addition, students can enter to win two $500 shopping sprees, one mall-wide at Worcester Common Fashion Outlets' Customer Service Center and another offered by Media Play, a book/audio/video superstore. No purchase is necessary to enter either sweepstakes. Media Play is also planning an afternoon of activities for kids and a special "Magic School Bus" party.

For students without wheels, Worcester Common Fashion Outlets is rolling out two free shuttle buses reaching eight campuses. The bus for WPI is on route A, and will stop at the Boynton Street Parking lot at 15 past each hour.
