Co-produced by Masque and the Department of Humanities and Arts, Henry V will be performed in Alden Memorial at 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16, 17, and 18. There will also be a 2pm performance on Nov. 18. Susan Vick, professor of drama/theatre, is directing the play. "This summer, six of us worked on an Interactive Qualifying Project in which we designed all the technical aspects of the show," says Vick. "It will be the most ambitious presentation we have ever done."
The play has a cast of 40. Auditions are open to all members of the WPI community, members of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium and area residents. No acting experience is necessary - "just a willingness to work on a great Shakespearean play," says Vick. Those who wish to try out may sign up for a specific time backstage or by calling ext. 5946. Everyone is encouraged to prepare a short monologue or scene from any Shakespearean play other than Henry V. Vick encourages groups of two or three individuals to work together to prepare a short scene. Those who have not auditioned before or do not come with something prepared will be offered selections to read. For more information, call ext. 5946 or ext. 5106.
