ASCE

Attention civil engineers!! ASCE will bring you the first "First Monday of the Month Speaker" to you on Monday, November 6 at 6:00 pm in KH 204. The featured speaker will be Mr. Thomas Hoover, city manager for the city of Worcester. He is a civil engineer, and will speak about his rather unusual career path, as well as some of the major civil engineering projects in progress in Worcester. This should be interesting for all civil engineering disciplines, due to the variety of projects going on in Worcester. This is a great opportunity for all civils to see what happens in the real world. From freshmen who are deciding upon a major, to sophomores pondering why you are suffering through statics, to juniors thinking about which type of CE to go into, to seniors who still don't know what you are doing next year; all of you may pick up some valuable career information. The meeting should last from 6:00 to 7:30, with a short business meeting proceeding Mr. Hoover's talk. Anyone who has not filled out a membership application or paid their $10.00 can do so at this meeting. And, if you don't know yet, come and find out what else ASCE can do for you! Finally, the one contestant for the tee shirt design contest has requested some competition, so the deadline for tee shirt designs has been extended for a couple of weeks. Let's see some cool designs! See you on November 6.

BiLAGA

Hello again, everyone. Welcome to B-term. Just think, you'll be taking midterms in two to three weeks, and won't that be fun? Meanwhile, come to the BiLAGA meeting this Wednesday, November 1, 1995, to get your mind off of annoying things like classes - same time, same place! If you don't know what we're talking about, direct questions to bilaga@wpi.edu and one of our officers will put you on the mailing list if you'd like. Membership is confidential. BiLAGA is the Bisexual, Lesbian, and Gay Alliance at WPI. We are a support and educational student-run organization. Remember, e-mail questions to bilaga@wpi.edu or snail-mail to BiLAGA c/o WPI Student Activities Office.

Christian Bible Fellowship

Welcome back all. B-term is up and rolling, and we are getting back into the swing of things. Praise the Lord for the wonderful educational opportunities you have here at WPI. Priase Him for the fellowship opportunities as well. As it was most of A-term, Friday Night Fellowship will be Friday nights at 7:00pm in the lower wedge. This is a time of fellowship, learning, and praise. Meet Saturday morning in front of Alumni at 10:30am for a time of fun and sports. In addition, this week, as an added bonus, 1981 WPI alumni Steve Amato will be a guest speaker. He will be giving a lecture on Evidence for the Existance of God. While at WPI, Mr. Amato did his Suff. on this topic. Since that time he has continued to research it. The program will be Thursday Nov. 2, at 7:30pm in SL105. It will end with a short question and answer session. All who are interested are invited to attend this free event.

Glee Club

Hey Guys, it seems like everyone had a good vacation but now it's back to the grind. Wells ought to be a good time this weekend. See Steiner for tips on picking up Wells chicks. He's a pro. Don't plan on seeing Babb all weekend, he's going to be "busy." Mooch and Stoddard will be with us too. (Just a word to the unwary traveler; stay out of the Mooch mobile at all costs.) Big brother events will be kicking in soon too so stay tuned for more info on that. Thanks to everyone who showed up on Friday, I hope you had a good time. If you have any suggestions tell one of the officers. Also, don't forget to show up for your phone-a-thon times, it's really important that we do well on that. If anyone comes up with more fundraising ideas those would be appreciated too. Remember, England/ Ireland is just around the corner and it ain't free. Keep in tune and we'll be singing for the Queen before you know it, just not the Queen you're thinking of. That's it. Later.

ISC

Here we are again after the break... I don't know about you guys but we had a very relaxing break and therefore we don't want to write a lot. Newman Club

Welcome back everyone and know that the Newman Club is holding a welcome back night at the Religious Center on Friday, November 5th at 5:30 pm. The party will be a pasta and video night. Our Italian Chef, John D. spent the term break in the State of Pennsylvania learning new recipes and so he claims he is prepared to stage another great Italian supper. So come on down and see if he learned anything. The agenda committee is meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at noon to set up the agenda for the Newman meeting on Monday night, Nov. 13th. Also the club will be sponsoring a trip to LaSallette on Dec. 5th to see the lights followed by supper at Wright's Chicken Farm. Details can be obtained from Becky Prince, Sue Roosa, Tom Hart, Deb Foley, or Father S. Also feel free to inform those named if you have any ideas for the Newman Club to consider. So save those dates, Nov. 5th, Nov. 13th and December 5th.
