ASCE

Thank you all who attended the presentation by Mr. Pollalis last night. We are going to try to wrap up this tee shirt contest soon so we can print up the winning design over break. Get your design to one of the officers today! Lastly, a special message from your ASCE president: Remember, Santa Claus is coming to town, so you better be nice. Have a great holiday season.

BiLAGA

The WPI Bisexual, Lesbian, and Gay Alliance will, of course, not be having a meeting this Wednesday, December 6, as it is an off week. Next week, however, is time for another Open Meeting which will probably be in the lower wedge, so keep an eye out and we'll keep you posted. Also, I may still have some questionnaires left if any of you who missed last weeks meeting would like to fill them out. Send ?s about that to the group account. That's bilaga@wpi.edu for anyone with any questions about the nature of the organization, meeting times, etc. Also, http://www.wpi.edu/~bilaga if you'd like some more info. And one more time, Thanks to everyone helped out with the cafe!

Christian Bible Fellowship

Greetings, friends. This is an exciting time of year. Not just because there is less than two weeks left of B-term either. I'll leave it to you to figure out why it is so exciting (there's a hint in the next paragraph).

Come all to Friday night fellowship. It's this Friday, and most every Friday in the Morgan A at 7:00pm. It is a great time to praise God through song, prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship. Then wake up bright and early Saturday morning for sports. Meet in front of Alumni at 10:30am. There will be a Christmas party on the 9th. Be on the look out for details.

Are you feeling under-motivated? Has school work gotten you down, because you just can't see a point to it? It is easy to lose sight of why we have to do all the earthly work that we do especially during the Christmas Season. When you lose sight of the reason for doing your tasks, you can't be happy doing them and you don't do them well. At least, I don't. A friend showed the following verses to me, and although they didn't answer any specific "why's", they were reassuring and refreshing for me. The longer I think upon them the more helpful they become. "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen in temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." II Corinthian 4:16-18 (NIV).

CSA

Welcome to yet another edition of the, that's right! you guessed it. CSA Club Corner. Ha,Ha, I am so happy because I get to write the CSA Club corner all the time and you don't! See, every week I have to get myself psyched up for this. It starts at the beginning of the week, then slowly my writing cells collect their energy, and at the end of the week at around 3:00, I let it all go out in a huge creative effort. The thing is that, you ,the readers, should try this method. Build yourself up into believing that at the beginning of the next week you will have something incredible to read. Tell all of your friends about it!

Alrighty, if my calculations are correct today will be the first day of our secret santa thing. Remember nothing too expensive, unless the person you are giving the present to has the box number: 2443. In that case, you should do your best to give that person a really, really good present. I have a feeling that the person with that particular box# will want something along the lines of a Hundred Dollar bill. I don't know, it's just a hunch. It's still in the works, but rumors have been going around about a homepage contest within the CSA, where the winner or winners may get prizes.

That's all I have to say about that. Do alot of people read this? I hope so, because if not, this may seem like a real big waste of time. But I know that there are many CSA junkies out there, and that there are still alot of die hard Club Corner readers. Thanks for your support. See you next week.

International Student Council

Dinner + Party = Success! If you were not there, you missed it, and you might as well just go jump into a well - yeah, I'm talking to you! Everybody is going to be talking about it, and you won't know what you missed : Loser!

We had food from everywhere, and I mean FOOD (not that DAKA crap). Indian, Puerto Rican, Chinese, Thai, German and FOOD from many other places. I'm still stuffed. And what should you do after you've stuffed your face with good food? Dance it away of course! With DJ "Big Daddy" Frank, "Hot Bags" Praks and "Fly Guy" Pedro vibrating the walls, we partied all night!

After that awesome weekend, we've decided that all of you need a well deserved rest period. So, the next ISC meeting has been scheduled to next term (Jan. 17,1996). That's a whole year later! And in that time, you can digest all the information you've been fed from all the previous meetings. Speaking of 'feeding', man, that was good food!

So, watch out for some of the events we will have next year: Ski trip, paper planes, sports, cultural festival, and one of the officers graduating (hopefully)! (no, for sure)! Maybe we will finally get Jimmy to belly dance for us as well! Till then... avoid the snow

ISO

Hi all, you probably haven't heard much from ISO this year, but that doesn't mean we haven't been up to anything. We have welcomed a large number of new students and members, whom are all enthusiastic (ahemm ... grad students you don't want to let some puny freshmen show you up!) A term rocked with the ISO picnic to Hopkinton State Park. We got to see weird people rolling down hills, jumping in lakes when it was only 50 degrees out and the most exciting of all... certain members taking off their clothes (just kidding!) Next up for the ISO the ANNUAL DINNER. Get ready for the excitement and amazing catered food. If you want to eat exotic foods to your heart's content, watch live entertainment including a fashion show displaying clothes from the Indian Subcontinent, songs from India, and lively dances be at Alden Hall on December 6th at 7pm. $8 for the whole show and food, sounds interesting to me. We promise the event will be elegant and a time you will never forget, especially with the dance party later in the evening with DJ Prakash. So get up to it and beat those B term Blues and purchase your tickets from Swathi Subramanian (subu@wpi.edu), Sameer Bhoite (sammy@wpi.edu), Ranjit Kher (ranj@wpi.edu). So come along WPI students, faculty, family and friends. All are welcome for this gala event. Hope to see you there....or else!

Newman Club

The Newman Club's Annual Christmas Mass will be this coming Sunday, Dec. 10th at 9:00 pm in Alden Memorial Chapel. Whether or not , we have a party after the Mass will be decided at Board Meeting which is scheduled before this paper is published. So watch your e-mail gang and you will be informed . After all we don't want to have a party the night before too many final exams. Our Retreat is scheduled for Saturday, January 27, l996 , so save that date. We hope to have an off -campus site for it. Many have requested that the Club publish a calendar of events for Term C & D as there are many events planned for those terms. By the way, Fr. S was rejected by two judges for Jury Duty last week. It seems that in one case he and the defense lawyer were college buddies and in the other he knew all the policemen that were going to be witnesses for the District Attorney. Some people have all the luck of the world . However we are sure Fr. S. calls it the luck of the Irish. John D. ,our Italian chef claims that when he goes to court now, he knows who to bring along with him. It seems John D and the Worcester police had a great conversation a few weeks ago and thus he saved a few fellow students from getting a free ride and free room that night. We tell you that our Italian Chef is a great guy. Oh yes, our nursing home outreach is going great and we are now going to expand our outreach to include some other projects. Also we will be helping APO will their canned food drive by collecting such items at our Christmas Mass. Hope to see you all there and bring a friend.

The consititution has been approved. Yahooo!!! The budget for next year is in the works. Anyone have any ideas for things to do? Any ideas to improve attendance to meetings? Hello!??! Society of Women Engineers

Hi SWE members! Our big event for B-term, the Mr. WPI Contest, was a success. Everyone who came out for it seemed to have a great time. A big round of thanks goes out to everyone that was able to help out. The next thing that we have coming up is elections! Think about whether or not you might like to run for a position at our next meeting. Speaking of our next meeting, it's going to be held this Thursday, December 7th at 7pm in HL202. (Make a note - this is a change from the usual location.) We will have a few other things to discuss as well as the elections, so we hope to see you all there.
