Another incident of racial tension

To the editor:

For reasons beyond my control I was not able to reach Carlos Zapata on time for the series of articles on diversity with my own experience of (discrimination, racial tension, or whatever you want to call it) but I would like to share it anyways because I think racial tensions are an issue on the USA and we need to learn to interact better with each other.

Freshman year, when I lived in Daniels Hall, 3rd floor, a student on the second floor, harassed me. For a few weeks I received several send messaged to my terminal, when I was logged in, insulting me racially. I kept track of the occurences, and went to Dean Richardson about the matter. A hearing was held, and the student tried claim it was his roomate using his account, which was probably true, but I didn't care at the time. The student was put on probation or something like that.

The worst part about the whole thing is that I never knew who it really was, the one tried or the roommate. I never gave them a reason to dislike me, other than the color of my skin.
