Club Corner
ASCE
Welcome back, everyone. We will be starting the construction of the concrete canoe this term. The first meeting will be Wed. Jan 24 downstairs in the concrete lab. More details and times will follow. The concrete canoe is a great way for any civil engineering student to get some experience working with concrete. WPI ASCE is also compiling resumes of graduating civil engineers who have an interest in the construction field. These resumes will be sent to the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts, who will make this resume directory available to all its contractor members. This is a valuable opportunity to get your resume "out there", so place your one page resume in the ASCE box in the Civil Engineering office no later than Feb. 12 to be included.
Christian Bible Fellowship
Snow, snow everywhere and not a place to sled. Ha! Welcome back! A new term and a new year is here. We are being presented with endless opportunities to enjoy ourselves, to learn from our experiences, and to learn from each other. We should take full advantage of these, but do so in a godly manner.
The new year kicked off for CBF last Friday with the first FNF of 1996. Friday Night Fellowship this week will be Friday evening at 7:00 in Morgan A. Come and join in the singing and fellowshiping. We will meet for sports Saturday morning at 10:30 in front of Alumni (or just inside).
"Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.' Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.'" James 4:13-15 (NIV). James states it well. He indicates that we need to humble ourselves to the will of God, our Lord. I suggest that as we make plans for the new year and get back into the rhythm of school and work toward our goals, we take heed of what James has said. We should not work toward our goals and do what we have planned, but rather we should determine God's plan for us and do that.
Lens and Lights
Welcome back, all. I hope that you all had a good break, and will have a good year in 1996. We are getting right back into the swing of things, with a movie on the first day back, and then Itchy Fish on Thursday. I'm ready for it to end, already. Anyway, we have big happenings coming up. This Wednesday, for all you new members, we will be going over the election process. The following week will be nominations, and the week following that will be elections. If you have any inclination in becoming an officer, talk to the person in that position now. They can tell you what it's like. Another good idea is to attend exec board meetings, which are on Mondays at 4:30 in Beckett Conference Room located in Fuller on the second floor.
Also, for those of you who don't have ID's yet, I am working feverishly top try and get them all finished. If you haven't had your picture taken yet, there is no hurry, for once. I will let you know what my schedule is once I figure it out myself. Other than that, I wish you all the best in '96, and I'll see you on Wednesday. As always, meetings are 4:30 in AK 232.
Masque
Hope you are all well rested because we've got a lot of work ahead of us. Already the productions of Cyrano de Bergerac and MW Rep's Rumors are well underway. If you are willing to help out with either or both, contact the producers wildman@wpi and zaphod@wpi, respectively. We are currently looking for playwrights to contribute to the upcoming New Voices 14 (phew, a number that can be said without consequence). Please submit any and all of your plays to Susan Vick by 5pm February 1, 1996!!! All submissions must consist of two copies of the play: 1 copy with all vital info like name, email, box number, and the other copy must be anonymous. Also, if there is anyone who would like a production position (PUBLICITY!) for New Voices, please email alfredo@wpi. Don't forget, Masque meeting in the Green Room behind Alden Stage, Friday at 4:30pm!!!
The Newman Club
The week before the Christmas vacation was not only a busy one but a great one for the Club. We participated in the APO project of helping to get canned goods for the poor by partaking in their contest plus gathering canned goods at the Christmas Mass.
Also we passed "the hat" among members and came up with $179.00 which was sent to the Bishop's Christmas Dinner Committee. That amount feted about twenty four people at the dinner where about 1100 people were feted on Christmas Day. Eight hundred of those feted at the dinner where elderly people alone in the apartments. Volunteers including some of our Newman members brought the hot Christmas meal to their homes. Of course they mentioned to all involved that they, the volunteers, were students at WPI -good public relations for our college.
Now we move on to Term C and D. The executive committee will meet Tuesday night, January 16th, to plan our calendar for the rest of the year. If you want, bring your ideas to the meeting or e-mail them to Becky Prince at bprince. We are planning pasta nights, discussion groups, scripture study groups, community outreach, freshmen dinners, etc. So feel free to add your ideas to our agenda.
Oh yes, wait until you see our basketball team's new jersey that are coming in this week. Plus John , our Italian Chef, went to Pennsylvania to learn some more about Italian recipes and he is now waiting to try out these recipes on new volunteers. Also our annual retreat will be Saturday, January 27th. Keep that date in mind and more information will be forthcoming.

Pre-Law Society
Hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing break!!! Our next meeting is TODAY, 4:30 in the Social Science conference room. We will be discussing Suffolk's open house this Thursday. A contingent from our group will probably be going. If you cannot attend the meeting TODAY and are interested in going, please contact Prof. Rissmiller or myself (Wendell) about rides and such.
The budget for next year was turned in to SGA on time before break and is being reviewed. As soon as we hear anything about it, we will let you know.
I think that's it for now. If anyone has any questions, problems, answers, etc. bring them to the meeting TODAY!!! See ya.
Society of Women Engineers
Welcome back everyone! Let's hope that all of our holidays were pleasant and RELAXING. Is everyone tired of all of this snow yet, or what? But now, it's time to get back to business. There are two meetings scheduled for this week, on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings, so try to attend either meeting. Also, plan to participate in the next Girl Scout Badge day scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20.
Let's bring our new ideas to the meeting, and let's have a great C-term!
