Who says there's no women at WPI
by mett lebb - Contributing Writer
WPI Pub hosts a plethora of acts each year. The Pub shows offer an escape from the often desolate WPI Friday evenings and enlighten the tech mind with new sights and sounds. The Friggs were not just a bunch of giutar-toting women. They were an experience. With songs ranging from a happy, nineties brand of Go-Go's flavored alterna-punk, to heavier numbers, the Friggs put on a show that WPI will not soon forget. They were musically tight and played fun music that anyone could enjoy.
And did I mention that PEOPLE ACTUALLY CAME!
Well, they did. The crowd filled Riley common and with a bit of help from the Pub committee itself they all had fun. The show featured opening artists Sit'n'Spin, a New Jersey band (also all female) whose music incited people to do the twist, the swim, and the buffalo bounce?!? The crowd moved and so did I. It was great! They gave away free stuff!
The bottom line: The Friggs are a great band. Sit'n'Spin was an unexpected treat. WPI was grateful.
Thank you Friggs...
