USML-2 crew on campus April 10

The entire crew of the Second United States Microgravity Laboratory (USML-2) will be on campus on Wednesday, April 10, as WPI hosts a major event devoted to discussing the critical relationship between education, particularly education in the sciences and technology, and the economic features of the United States.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy will join the astronauts and a select group of leaders from industry, government, and education in a roundtable discussion that will focus on the theme "Countdown to Tomorrow, Building Educational Partnerships for the 21st Century."

Members of the WPI community will soon receive invitations to a presentation in Harrington Auditorium at 11:30am, when the crew, including chemical engineering Professor and Department Head Albert Sacco, Jr., a payload specialist aboard the Columbia, will share their memories of living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory. Doors open at 11am. The community is also invited to an informal question-and-answer session from 9:30 to 10:30am in Alden Memorial.
