Simple Harmonic Motion, WPI's male a cappella group, and Clark Counterpoints, Clark University's female a capella group, will sponsor Worcester Aid at 8 pm on Friday, Nov. 22, in Riley Commons. Admission is $5. The program will also feature improvisational comedy and the music of WPI's Stage Band, led by Richard Falco, director of jazz studies. Proceeds will benefit local charities.

Formerly known as the WPI Baker's Dozen, Simple Harmonic Motion changed its name in 1994 when it became student-directed. The group, whose repertoire ranges from the pop music of the '50s and '60s to modern a cappella and rock, recently released its first CD Sing 'till it Hertz. The CD is available at Tatnuck Bookseller @ WPI and at Tatnuck Bookseller Marketplace, 335 Chandler St., Worcester.

On Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at 1 pm, SHM and Valerie and Walter Crockett will present an afternoon of musical entertainment at the marketplace. The Crocketts will perform songs from their new CD Unbutton Your Heart.
