Cultural Festival '97, the 11th annual Cultural Festival, organized and sponsored by the International Student Council (ISC) will be held in Harrington Auditorium on Saturday, April 26th, 10:00am - 3:00pm. With a participation of more than a dozen of WPI's international, ethnic and religious clubs in addition to several other ethnic groups, its organizers say it is "probably the biggest and most successful in ISC and WPI history".
At last week's SGA meeting, at which the ISC was defending an emergency fund request for the event, the Council stated that the Worcester City Mayor's Office has issued a proclamation to commemorate the event and it will be presented by a district council representative at the Festival. At the meeting the SGA granted the ISC emergency funds for the event and the Cultural Festival '97 organizing committee has been busy making arrangements for the event. Plans include city and campus wide advertising campaigns, making this not only a campus, but a community wide event.
As per tradition entrance to Cultural Festival '97 will be free. With numerous performances, displays, food samplings and ethnic vendors the festival promises to be as colorful and crowd pulling as in previous years.
