Michael Driscoll will be conducting Schubert's "Mass in G" on Saturday, April 19th in fulfillment of his capstone performance requirement for his minor in music. He will be conducting the WPI Men's Glee Club and the Well's College Glee Club in addition to a string orchestra composed of WPI instrumentalists and professional musicians from Boston. The performance will take place at Sacred Heart Church in Southbridge, MA during the 4:00 mass. Cantoring the mass will be Matt Ettore, former President of the Glee Club and the first director of Simple Harmonic Motion.
Michael is the first student to perform his capstone for the minor in music at WPI. He has been widely involved in the music program during his four years at WPI. Michael has been an officer in the Glee Club for three years, recently finishing up his senior year as President. He has also been a member of Simple Harmonic Motion since its founding in 1994 and has been the Musical Director of the group for the past two years. As part of his Humanities Sufficiency, Michael has arranged many pieces of music, several of which have been performed by Simple Harmonic Motion and the WPI Glee Club. In addition to singing, he is also an accomplished pianist and organist.
Michael is an Electrical Engineering major and was recently awarded a Goddard Fellowship for graduate study at WPI.
