Islamic scholar to present embryology findings

The Muslim Student Association has the pleasure on inviting Dr. Jamal Badawi, a world-renowned Islamic scholar, to WPI. Dr. Badawi will present recent findings in the field of embryology and their agreement with Quranic (Koranic) revelation at 7:30pm Monday, April 21st, in Perreault Hall, Fuller Laboratories.

Dr. Badawi is a Professor at St. Mary's University in Halifax, Canada and serves on the Islamic Juristic Council of North America. He is the founder/chairman of the Islamic Information Foundation which has produced more than 350 television programs broadcast on cable stations in the United States, Canada and other countries. He is the author of various articles and books on Islam including The Earth and Humanity, Bridgebuilding between Muslims and Christians, Gender Equity in Islam, and the Application of Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism) in the Natural and Social Order. Dr. Badawi has been a guest speaker in several countries and cities nationwide, including the Boston area and has participated in numerous lectures, seminars, and interfaith dialogues.

He comes to WPI at the invitation of the WPI Muslim Student Association with the support of the Student Speaker's Fund, the Student Life Office, and the International Student Council. The Muslim Student Council has maintained an annual event of inviting guest speakers to WPI to address current Islamic issues of interest to the WPI community. Dr. Badawi's presentation regarding the Quran's conformity with modern discoveries in science is especially exciting. The presentation is open to the entire WPI and Worcester community.
